The regular meeting of Branch 782 was called to order by Vice-President

Mike Towery at 7:31 p.m. the 24th day of June, 2003 at the Branch office, 2628

F Street, Bakersfield. The flag salute was led by Sargeant-at-Arms Jeff

Harrington. All members of the Executive Board were present except Treasurer Molly

Biggar. The stewards from 01, 05, 06, 08, 09, Camino Media, Delano, Lamont,

Shafter and Wasco were present. Also present was Newsletter Editor Basil

Zuniga and OWCP Representative George Perez. Anita Holderman of the Social and

Recreation Committee was also present.

The minutes of the May 27, 2003 meeting were read and accepted with no

additions or corrections.

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP: Applications were received from Alejandro

Galvan, Mona Martin, Baljinder Brar, Ralph Ramirez, Jr., Karen Elms and Shannon

Jones Fannin. .

REPORTS OF SPECIAL AND STANDING COMMITTEES: The Picnic Committee will

meet following the Steward Meeting, July 1st. Jastro Park has been reserved

for the picnic on October 12. Basil Zuniga reported that Hillcrest folded and

stapled the newsletter last month. Next month is Brundage Station’s turn.

Basil will contact Judy Roberson, acting 93307 Shop Steward, and let her know.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: The renter is still having problems with bugs. Molly

Biggar will set up a service call with an exterminator.

NEW BUSINESS: None

GOOD OF THE ASSOCIATION: Norma Hamer asked questions regarding the route

adjustments in Shafter. A discussion was held.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION: None

FINANCIAL SECRETARY’S REPORT: Diana Chavez reported that $11,054.49 was

collected for June 2003.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Kim Gerdes read the Treasurer’s report:

Beginning Balance $21,264.64

Income $10,391.82

Interest Income $2.59

Balance $31,659.05

Expenses $ 5,869.76

Ending Balance $25,789.29

The COLCPE drawing was won by Brad Smith. The drawing for $500.00 was won

by Dicie Wilder, who was present. There were 34 members present.

The meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
